Million Heirs

In summer of 2024, requests began coming in from the west coast with great demand, due ti a single the group had released to radio the year before. But, there was one hang up- they wanted a group and not just a soloist. Which brings us to the 3rd vocal member of the group. 

 

Tommy Spencer had been a close friend and confidant of Mike’s for many years, and during a random conversation one day, Tommy made a statement that would change everything. 

He said “ I’ve sang all over the eastern United States, but I’ve never sang out west. I would love to do that at some point in my career. If you need help on that tour, I would love to do that sometime”

 

The wheels were in motion. A day or two later, Mike called Tommy back, and the idea began to take formation. 

 

Tommy Spencer came with over 50 years of musical experience, having started his career on the famed Cas Walker show at just 5 years of age. Not only did his experience bring a wealth of musical knowledge ( he has perfect pitch. Next time you see him, try it) he also had the knowledge of what makes a group flow personality wise. A sort of quiet personality compared to Mike & Jake, he brings a source of wisdom and stability to the group that we simply can’t put a value on. On stage, he’s the perfect counterpoint to the other two. He ends up even everything from the straight man, to the main personality on stage, which is perfectly fine with the other two.

 

“ night to night, you never know who will be the one the crowd gravitates to on stage. And we’re all good with that. We go places that each are well known individually, and then, we go places where the group, over all is well known. But, in a year and a half of touring together, never once has an ego gotten in the way on or off the platform- that in itself brings a refreshing approach to what we do”- Mike

 

The group made no formal announcement concerning the reformation, because, to be honest, we weren’t entirely sure what we were going to do or what we wanted to do. We wanted to spend some time searching out what we wanted to do and how we wanted to do it.

 

And the result was amazing! We signed with a major record company, a legendary booking agency, and were picked up by a company to handle promotions, both on radio and for personal appearances. 

 

The result was a brand new LIVE album; our very first Christmas album and subsequent tour this fall, as well as a new studio album for release early next year. 

 

Last year, we did around 50 services, concerts and tour dates, and will do about the same this year. None of us went to tour endlessly.. we have families who we love, and don’t want to let life get away from us, so we strive to keep the tour dates within a reasonable number each year. And it works well for all of us! 

 

Tommy, Jake, Mike & James ( when he can) want to keep the focus in the right place. Not on an individual, not on the group, but on the one who matters.. JESUS!
